New Year, New Yoga with Adriene Series

I’ve been doing yoga regularly for over 4 years now. I discovered Yoga with Adriene on Youtube shortly after Esme, my now 4-year-old, was born and it changed my life. I took a yoga class in college so I was familiar with some poses, but discovered yoga in a new way with Adriene. She helped me discover that daily yoga practice makes me feel my best, even if it’s just a few minutes. For those of you that aren’t familiar, Adriene has several 30-day yoga series as well as numerous yoga videos for everything you could imagine on Youtube. It is such great content and it is free! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve gone through each of her series. I just keep rotating through them, while mixing in random videos here and there. And I’m getting better at incorporating it into my day on my own.

Adriene will be releasing a new 30-day series on January 1 and it is my goal to do yoga every single one of those days in a row. I’ve gotten close to completing a series in 30 consecutive days, but ultimately have taken at least a couple days (or more) off each time. I invite you to join me on this journey. It’s okay if you don’t do it every day. The most important thing is that you are showing up for yourself and being kind to your body.

I have several goals for 2020, most of them revolving around wellness–my own wellness and helping others with theirs. I’ve been playing with the idea of starting a wellness network as one way to accomplish (and sustain) my goals. To be honest, I don’t know exactly what that means yet, but I love the idea of having a community where we can share and be vulnerable, and ultimately encourage each other to be our best selves. Wellness comes more easily to me when I surround myself with positive influences, both in-person and through social media. Whether it’s nourishing my body with healthy food, practicing yoga as well as other forms of exercise daily, or being mindful of other needs I may have, the more reminders and support I have, the better. I’d like to share my experiences with food & nutrition, exercise, and mental health/therapy, and I’d like to learn from others. I would love to have you join me in my wellness journey and we can explore together. Connect with me!
